ProgressiveJPEG switch would save processed jpeg images as Progressive JPEG. Traditionally, JPEG images are fully loaded before they are displayed but this could pose a problem especially when displaying large JPEG images over the internet. Thus the concept of progressive display was developed. With Progressive JPEG, part of the images are progressively displayed while it loads.

Note : Some traditional image viewer by not support Progressive JPEG. In such situation, it might be best to switch progressivejpeg mode to standard by not including the progressivejpeg switch.
