CM Batch JPEG Date Changer, CM Batch JPEG Rotator and CM TIFF Viewer released to the Mac App Store

We are pleased to announce the release of three new applications on the Mac App Store.

CM TIFF Viewer

CM TIFF Viewer 80

CM TIFF Viewer is free TIFF viewing application which allows you to view single and multipage TIFF files. It comes with a magnification slider to enlarge the view. It is helpful in viewing TIFF files which may not be supported by the built-in Preview app. As the Mac App Store does not support trial versions of our applications, we release this application as a way for potential users test if our TIFF supported applications will work with their files.

For more information or to download this FREE application, you can do so at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cm-tiff-viewer/id1083844538?ls=1&mt=12

CM Batch JPEG Rotator

rotator 80CM Batch JPEG Rotator is modelled after our very own Batch JPEG Rotator which supports lossless JPEG rotation via EXIF meta data. By employing this method of rotation, the photo quality is not sacrifice and photos will be viewed in the correct orientation on any computer and platform. You will not need to worry about rotating each photo one at a time as it will evaluate every single photo and determine the appropriate orientation needed. It saves you time and hassle especially when sharing photographs with friends, family, colleagues or customers.

On the Mac and iOS devices, photos are automatically rotated so it might not be obvious that the actual underlying photos is stored as landscape oriented photos no matter if they are landscape or portrait. So what may seems right on the Apple devices would look very wrong on other platform. Solving this fundamental issue is what CM Batch JPEG Rotator is here to do.

For more information and to purchase this application, you can do so at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cm-batch-jpeg-rotator/id1102364838?ls=1&mt=12

CM Batch JPEG Date Changer

datechanger 80CM Batch JPEG Date Changer is an application born out of necessity. It is a batch tool which helps you modify the Creation, Modification and EXIF date associated to the JPEG photo file.

It solves a fundamentally pain point which may happen when wrongly setting the digital camera date time and finding out that all the dates are messed up. CM Batch JPEG Data Changer can help by offering you three ways of rectifying this issue. First by letting you set a specific date and/or time (you can decide which to change). Secondly by applying Date Maths by adding or subtracting time and day from the date time on the photos. Thirdly by syncing all Creation, Modification and EXIF Date times.

There are tools out there which let you change file date and time but essentially what those do is to change all the files to a single date and time. It may work well for documents but that does not work well for digital photos when each photo would have been taking at different time. Moreover most tools does not deal with EXIF Date Time which would be essential for Cloud storage services such as Google Photos.

CM Batch JPEG Date Changer is made to fill that void and be a life saver when it is called upon.

CM TIFF Viewer Launched on the Mac App Store

We are pleased to announce the release of CM TIFF Viewer on the Mac App Store.

CM TIFF Viewer is a TIFF File Graphical Viewer. It employs the same TIFF rendering engine as our ComboTIFF, CM TIFF 2 PDF, Batch TIFF & PDF Converter and CM PDF & TIFF Page Extractor applications.

TIFF Documents are container files which can supported a wide variety of compression algorithms and some are widely used while others may be a little more obscure.

Over time, we had request to test of the TIFF documents which our users have are compatible with our tools and as such CM TIFF Viewer is born.

This FREE application can be used to evaluate the TIFF viewing and rendering features of our other tools or can be used as a quick way to view a TIFF document file which you may have around. As the Mac App Store does not allow you to try the application before buying, we thought it would be apt to provide you a way to test the TIFF engine to see if they work with your files.

It supports both Single Page and Multipage TIFF documents which you can navigate through the pages. There is a Zoom slider which you can use to enlarge or reduce the dimensions of your TIFF file.

CM TIFF Viewer is a standalone application which is simple to use.

You can find CM TIFF Viewer at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cm-tiff-viewer/id1083844538?ls=1&mt=12

Batch TIFF & PDF Converter is Live

We have just got word from Apple that Batch TIFF & PDF Converter is now live on the Mac App Store.

This application is includes all the best features from all our PDF and TIFF tools we have listed on the Mac App Store which gives you an all-on-one platform to simplify all your TIFF and PDF needs.

Batch TIFF & PDF Converter

Although this application is called Batch TIFF & PDF Converter, like most of our applications, they do more than just converting between TIFF and PDF and vice versa. The inclusion of Page Ranges which we perfected on Batch TIFF Resizer is a powerful feature which will allow you to rearrange, extract, insert and remove pages from your TIFF or PDF documents. It gives you all the control needed to perform the task through a simple to understand interface. We are all familiar with Page Ranges in the context of Printing where you can select which page of the documents to print and we just brought that same simplicity in this tool.

An example of page range can be sum up in this simple line. Say that you have 10 pages in your document and you need to remove page 4 and swap the order of page 6 and 7. The Page Range will look like 1-3,5,7-6,8-10 . It’s as simple as that.

Page Extraction will allow you to extract one or more pages in the document for distribution instead of having to offer the entire document. The extracted pages can be saved as a TIFF, PDF, PNG or even a JPG file.

Inserting pages can be a life-saver especially when a page or more is missing from the document and you will not need to recreate the entire TIFF or PDF file. All you need to do is use Batch TIFF & PDF Converter to insert that page or file in for you. It supports inserting TIFF, PDF, PNG and JPG files.

Removing pages is the opposite of inserting and can be equally useful when certain pages are not ready for distribution.

Apart from those core features, Batch TIFF & PDF Converter supports adding of Text Captions to the pages. This can be done on the 9 computed points on the page and not only that you can determine which page you want the text captions to be on. A text caption in this case can be your copyright tag.

It also supports page resizing to reduce the page size and thus document size.

For PDF files, it supports working on both password protected and non password protected file. When it first loads the file to the list, it will evaluate if the file is password protected and if so, will prompt you to enter the password. This is only done at the beginning of the session. Obviously, this application will also offer you the ability to password protect your PDF file and determine which permissions such as Copying, Printing and Annotation support.

Batch TIFF & PDF Converter is a robust tool which is modelled around our Batch TIFF Resizer for Windows. This application is used by legal firms, architectural firms and any organization and individuals who would need to work with TIFF or PDF files on a regular basis.

Batch TIFF & PDF Converter retails for US$29.99 and is available exclusively on the Mac App Store at

Batch TIFF & PDF Converter for the Mac on the way

We have been busy behind the scene working on a brand new Mac App which builds on the various TIFF and PDF Apps that we currently have available in the Mac AppStore. This new app should be available next month and would model around Batch TIFF Resizer which will bring you support for working multi-page TIFF, PDF, PNG and JPEG Files format.

The application will provide you with an all-inclusive application to merge, extract, rearrange pages with TIFF and PDF files. It also comes with other nifty support to add text captions to the TIFF, PDF, PNG and JPEG files. It also features function to resize pages and other features which makes Batch TIFF Resizer where it is today.

Here are some of the basic screenshots

We will provide more updates when the app gets ready for release. We do hope to have everything ready within the next couple of weeks.

Page Ranges Support in our Mac Apps

We are progressively adding support for Page Ranges support to our existing Mac Apps wherever practical. The Page Ranges support will enable you the ability to determine how the pages in your TIFF and PDF files will be arranged.

In the past month, we have added supported for Page Ranges in

  1. CM PDF & TIFF Page Extractor
  2. CM ComboTIFF
  3. CM PDF Merge NX

We hope that this new feature will enable you to perform your work even more efficiently.

Do let us know what features you like to see in our applications and we will do our best to include them in future updates.

Page Ranges

One of the key features we are implementing across the board for our TIFF and PDF applications is “Page Ranges”.

Page Ranges is a simple concept but it provides a rather powerful feature in enabling you as a user to determine how you want to rearrange your pages within a document, be it a PDF file or a TIFF file. This means that you can use Page Ranges to determine which pages you want to include and which pages you want to exclude. Not only that, it also means that you can now determine the sort order of the pages. This feature is certainly useful if a certain document needs to be reorganized.

Batch TIFF Resizer v3.16 Released

We are pleased to announce the immediate release of Batch TIFF Resizer v3.16. This update contains an updated imaging and TIFF engine, it fixes a bug which causes the preview image to disappear after processing and comes with several additional resizing methods which can be used.

An updated version can be downloaded from our website at https://www.batchimage.com/downloads .

Note : We were reluctant to do this but as the licensing cost and updates for several core components have increased, we had to implement several changes to the prices of Batch TIFF Resizer. The new prices are GUI Version $59.95, Command Line version $95.95 and the Server Version $299.95. We believe this is still competitive for what Batch TIFF Resizer can accomplish for your business.

Batch TIFF Resizer v3 has arrived!

We are pleased to announce the release of Batch TIFF Resizer v3. This is a major upgrade which required us to rewrite the entire code base and in doing so allows us to develop a truly native 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.

What’s New in Batch TIFF Resizer 3

  • Interface Redesigned – First thing you will notice is that the interface is totally changed.

We removed the default File Menu and merged that into a larger Icon Bar. This is first step to being touch-friendly especially for our clients who are currently using touch devices such as Windows 8 Pro tablets. This also allows you to see more columns in the File Listing now that we have integrated the Page Range feature.

We moved the commonly used settings such as Image Format and Save In Folder from the Settings tab into the main page so that you do not need to navigate back and forth the tabs just to change those settings.
  • Native 32 Bit and 64 Bit Support – With the introduction of Windows 7 and Windows 8, more computers are now installed with the 64 Bit Windows to take advantage of the larger memory address and that more computers are now equipped with more than 4 gigabytes of RAM, the native 64 Bit version will take advantage of this to allow you to process larger image files without running out of memory.

We understand that there are some computers which are installed with a 32 Bit Windows such as those running Windows XP and Windows 8 Tablets which are pre-installed with a 32 Bit Windows Operating System and thus we decided that it is time to embark on this total rewrite from bottom up.
  • PDF Import and Export – Batch TIFF Resizer started off as a tool to resize multi-page tiff files pages but new features such as the ability to export, merge and extract pages to the commonly supported formats were included. The ability to export to PDF was subsequently included. Over the years, we worked with several PDF engines and we found one which allows us to work with PDF files much more efficiently. This included the ability to import PDF files which we were able to integrate in Batch TIFF Resizer v3.

Being able to import PDF files will allow you to convert PDF files to TIFF files and vice versa with ease. Most of what you can do with the TIFF files can be done with the PDF files. The ability to perform PDF to PDF page extraction, rearranging pages and text captions are included. However, the Grayscale and Drop Shadow effects for PDF to PDF conversion is something we are looking to support.
  • Page Range Support – Batch TIFF Resizer 2 only allows you to sort the pages within the TIFF in ascending and descending orders. However, the design does have a huge limitation and that was that it did not allow you to extract pages from the Multipage TIFF or sort the pages in an order that you want. In the past, what you needed to do was to extract all the pages into individual TIFF files then load the individual pages according to the order you want. That is certainly not optimal.

In Batch TIFF Resizer 3, we sat down and thought about this long and hard about this and in the end, decided that the old design just had to go. We were not able to do this for Batch TIFF Resizer 2 as it means reworking hundreds of thousands lines of codes.

Starting from fresh makes it a lot easier to get this done. With the Page Range, you can determine sort order, remove certain pages and reorder pages within the documents with ease.  By default, when you load files to the File List, the Page Range will be set to First Page to Last Page, this entry can be edited manually. We have implemented Range Checking so that any invalid page entry will be rectified.
  • CSV Import and Export – In Batch TIFF Resizer 2, the only way you can import files is via the Load Files, Load Folders and by Dragging and Dropping them into the File Listing. These methods however only import the file names and nothing more. You will need to enter the rest of the columns manually in Batch TIFF Resizer.

The CSV Import allows you to prepare the list of files and their respective details in your favorite spreadsheet application and be able to load that into Batch TIFF Resizer 3.

At the same time, you can use the traditional methods of loading the files to the list and export the CSV file so that you can continue working on it in your spreadsheet application.
  • Support Large TIFF files – We have made several enhancement to the way Batch TIFF Resizer uses memory to process ever larger image files. With the 64 Bit version, Batch TIFF Resizer is able to handle larger TIFF files without running out of memory.
  • Support for 128 Bit AES and 256 Bit AES PDF Encryption – In Batch TIFF Resizer 2, only the 40 Bit and 128 Bit RC4 encryption are supported.
  • Grayscale JPEG Support – In Batch TIFF Resizer 2, when the Grayscale effect is applied to the JPEG images, the colors are set to grayscale but the JPEG file is still saved as a 24 Bit JPEG image. In Batch TIFF Resizer 3, all JPEG files which have the Grayscale effect enabled will be saved as 4 Bit JPEG. This will help reduce the file size significantly.
  • Improved Numerical Sort – In Batch TIFF Resizer 3, we included Smart Sort which will let you add both zero padded and non zero padded filenames together and Batch TIFF Resizer 3 will be able to sort them in the proper numeric orders. In the past, all file names are treated as text files where if you have file names listed as 1.tif , 2.tif , 10.tif will be sorted as 1.tif, 10.tif and 2.tif. So the only way around that was to zero pad each file name. You will not need to do that with Batch TIFF Resizer 3.
  • Support for Text Caption Macros – For extracted pages, you can now include additional macros such as Filename, Page Numbers and components of the Date and Time as part of the new filename.
  • Support for Fine-tuning of the Text Captions – Batch TIFF Resizer 3 comes with Alignment X Padding and Alignment Y Padding which allows you to micro-adjust the placement of the text caption.
  • Improved Drag and Drop – In Batch TIFF Resizer 3, you can now drag and drop folders and all support file and image formats which are supported will be added to the file listing.

Batch TIFF Resizer v3 comes in three different editions, the Windows Based GUI Version, Command Line version and the Server version.

The GUI Version retails for US$54.95, Command Line version retails for US$75.95 and the Server version retails for US$129.95
