Mac App Trials are Back

In June, we consolidate all sale of our Mac apps to the Apple App Store as it would simplify purchase and installation of our apps. However, one big issue with the App Store is that it does not offer you as the customer the ability to try our apps before buying.

As we have completed the migration of our apps from the Carbon to the Cocoa framework and then subsequently rewrite the apps to support the Sandboxing Requirement for OS X Lion.

Since all that is behind us now, we are pleased to announce that the Mac Trials are back on our website. However, all sales are exclusively available on the Apple App Store.

All Apps come with a 21 days trial period which would allow you to try our apps before buying.

CM Batch Photo Resizer (Mac) v1.1.11 Available on the App Store

We are pleased to announce the release of CM Batch Photo Resizer (Mac) v1.1.11. This version supports the retention of the XMP/IPTC Header when processing JPEG or TIFF images. It comes with support for optimization of the JPEG Huffman Table and the ability to retain the EXIF and IPTC or remove them to reduce file size.

This update is available with immediate effect from the App Store.

Trial Version for Mac

We announced that we have gone exclusively on the Mac App Store for all our Mac Apps so as to streamline the development and to harness the “App Store Only” features for our apps.

We however received emails from potential customers who want to try before buying our apps. As we have pretty much cleared the bulk of the development for the OS X Lion compatibility and Cocoa transition, we are looking at offering the option to download a trial copy of our apps from our website and also to option to purchase them off our site instead of the Mac App Store.

However, in line with the new development, the minimum specification would be an Intel Mac running OS X 10.6. The updates would be made within 72 hours of the release at the App Store. This will allow us to align the version on both the Mac App Store and on our website.

The Mac App Store does provide us with the opportunity to offer our apps to a wider audience but several shortcomings with face on the App Store is the lack of personal contact with our customer base and the obvious lack of the ability to offer trial versions.

We certainly want to minimize disappointed customers and be able to offer you the opportunity to try the app before purchasing them either on the App Store or our site.

Stay Tune. We should probably be able to finalize this before the end of the 2011.

Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

We mourn the passing of a great visionary of our time, Steve Jobs. It was his vision which shapes the way personal computers with his Apple computers and subsequently the iPod which shaped the way we listen to music.

He would be greatly missed and would be remembered as a hero of our times.

He thought us to think outside the box and not to be afraid to dream.
