Memory Pictures v1.66 Released

In this update, we replaced the Map Viewer which was based on Internet Explorer with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Internet Explorer has stopped being updated since June 2022 and Microsoft has announced that they would disable it on February 23 2023.

Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is already available on Windows 11 and would be progressively installed on Windows 10. If this is not being installed, you can download and install the runtime from

We have included the link within the app which you can download and install if the map viewer does not show up.

The Big Map View has been disabled at the moment as we are unable to get it working with the Edge WebView2.

If you are using Windows 8.1 and earlier, you can continue using v1.65

Memory Pictures Viewer v1.65 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of Memory Pictures Viewer v1.65. There is a significant change under the hood as we replaced the Map Viewer which was based on Internet Explorer to the one based on Microsoft Edge.

Interner Explorer has been discontinued by Microsoft earlier this year and it would be completely disabled on February 14 2023 on Windows 10. As such, to ensure that Memory Pictures Viewer continues to work in the future the change was essential.

However, if you are using Windows 8.1 or earlier and have not installed Microsoft Edge, you can continue to use v1.64 which is based on Internet Explorer control
