Update of Batch It Ultra v4

We are performing additional testings and debugging of Batch It Ultra v4 and thus we are pushing the release date to early April 2012.

Any purchase of Batch It Ultra v3 between September 2011 and April 2012 will get a free upgrade to Batch It Ultra v4. Do watch out for it.

A Note on Batch It Ultra

We are in the midst of developing Batch It Ultra v4 which is a major re-write to the current Batch It Ultra v3 which was introduced in 2004. This will put it inline with the current offerings we have for Windows.

We are preserving as many features from the old version to the new version and adding new ones. However, due to several new constraints and other related changes, we are dropping several features. The prominent of which is the Thumbnail Gallery Generator. We would be looking at working on a brand new version of Web It which would be offered to you free of charge when it is ready.

This new version would include a parameter based support which would allow you to run the application as a command line application or as a Windows Scheduler based application. This support would be offered as beta version when the new release of Batch It Ultra v4 is introduced.

We plan to release Batch It Ultra sometime in December 2011 or early January 2012 and any customer who purchase this from September 1st 2011 would get this major upgrade for free.

The partial delay of this update was due to several reasons. One of which was the shifting of some of our resources in developing the Mac and Cross-Platform Applications while we waited for clear directions from Microsoft as to Windows 8. At the offset, it did appear that Windows 8 would only support HTML5 apps which would mean a major rewrite of the application but with the introduction of the Developer Preview version last week, it is clear that they would run native Windows application too on the desktop platform. As such, we would be moving on with the development of Batch It Ultra v4.

Thank you for your patience.

A New Direction

The year 2011 is an exciting year for us. If you visited us in the past, you would see a number of changes made to our website. We tried to maintain the page name conversion so if you are linking to us, you would not need to change the links. This new design allow us to make changes to our website faster and without the risk of making too much mistakes.

Our Command Line tools (AutoBatch It and Batch Image Commander) have been discontinued as the command line platform is too restrictive for our development and it does not do our software justice. Moreover, sales for our command line tools have dropped tremendously and those made them too expensive to maintain. If you purchased these applications in the past, you can still download the latest version from our website.

We have implement limited command line features to our Batch TIFF Resizer and would do the same for our upcoming Batch It Ultra later this year.

A new change you might have noticed would be the inclusion of Mac OS X applications. Five of them for the start and more to follow. These applications are designed on the Mac OS X platform for the Mac user and as far as possible, the applications have their counterpart in the Windows platform. The 21 days trial version of the Mac OS X applications are available on our website and you could purchase from our website or from the Mac App Store. Currently two application, CM Batch Photo Resizer and ComboTIFF are available on the Mac App Store and the rest should follow in the next couple of months.
